Having a guest book will make it easier for you to remember who was at your wedding. The day can end up going by so fast and maybe you do not get around to seeing everyone there. Having a guest book planned will make your memories extra special by getting to see who shared your special day with you. You do not have to do the traditional guestbook either, you can choose a fun way to do a guest book for your wedding. Here are some different ideas for your wedding guest book.

 

1. Bottle of wine with numbers on it so that you can later enjoy a certain bottle on certain anniversary such as enjoy this bottle of wine on your 1st anniversary then enjoy on your 5 year anniversary. Have your guests sign those bottles so that you can remember who shared your wonderful day with you.

2. Typical blank frame where you can later put your wedding picture that people can sign.

3. Thumb prints!! You make a tree trunk on a poster board or better quality board...maybe a piece of wood. Then have your guests make the leaves to your tree with their thumb prints then sign their name next to it! How cool is that?!

4. Advice cards, which is essentially the guest book because they give you advice then sign their name!

Your wedding is one of the most important days of your life. So everything from the food, venue, DJ, and the photographer has to be perfect, right? Here’s what you need to know when choosing a wedding photographer.

 

  1. Find out if their style of photography matches what you want: The style of photos you want must be the style of photos they take. A photographer does not change their style to suit you. You wouldn’t ask a tattoo artist to become a painter.
  2. Make sure they take pride in their work: A photographer who is confident in their work will let you know they will be confident in getting the photos you ask them to get.
  3. Find out if they are shy or outgoing: A shy photographer is not going to get the photos you want because they will be afraid to be standing or step in the aisle for the perfect shot.
  4. Don’t be too demanding: Most photographers like when the bride and wedding party is laid back so they can get the fun and creative pictures. Making a three page list of must-have photos will stress the photographer out because if they miss a shot it will only stress them out from there.
  5. See if you get along: If your personality matches up the photographer will be more comfortable with asking you questions throughout the day.

 

The right photographer is what keeps the wedding running smoothly and pushes everyone to get things done on time. Without the right photographer it can be a world of chaos on your wedding day. Make sure that your photographer won’t be scared that if your family gets in the way of taking photos that they will nicely ask them to stop. Choosing the right photographer can be hard, so shop around set up a meeting with 2-3 and see who you like the best. Look at their work on social media or on their website. Ask people for referrals of the photographer that did their wedding. You will be surprised the world of difference is makes to be relaxed by having a photographer who is on top of things.

Even if you love your job or where you are in life, it could be time to take a vacation. Whether it be a vacation for the long weekend or a full 7 day trip, it is important that you do take sometime off for yourself. Life can be stressful with all the obligations such as family, children to take to baseball practice or ballet class, meetings for work, and making time for “life”. Sometimes we get so caught up in everything, we are hopelessly devoted to “life” and we let it take us over and control us. Some of you may forget what a vacation even looks like.  Here are some tips on what you should take a vacation:

 

1. Sometimes you just need a break: You need to remember how to have fun and go on a road trip and visit different places and step outside your comfort zone.

 

2. It is a stress reliever: Going on a vacation can free your mind of stress opening it up for new ideas when you get back.

 

3. Family time: Your “life” of stressfulness is not  going away anytime soon it is a part of your everyday routine. Take the opportunity to go have fun and spend time with your family.

 

4. You’ll be happier: Believe it or not, but taking a vacation turns you into a happier person.

 

5. It makes you more productive: Taking a vacation will make you more productive when you come back to work because you will feel happier and accomplished.

Have you ever sat through a boring work meeting that afterwards you asked yourself why did you even have the meeting? Think about your goals for your team meetings. Ask yourself what do you want accomplished, how long do you want the meeting to be and do you want your team members to be engaged? Well whatever your answer may be for those questions, here are some tips on how to change up your traditional meetings to get you to walk away from the meeting thinking “ Now that was a successful meeting”.

 

 

Tip 1: Change the location of your meeting

 

Changing the location of the meeting so that it is not in your actual office will give a sense of a different environment to be able to be more creative and open for new ideas.

 

Tip 2: Let your team members speak

 

Ask your team members engaging questions that they will be able to provide their input and response to how they feel about the topic. Letting them speak will give them a voice in the meeting, and they will be engaged rather than just listening to you speak for the whole duration of the meeting.

 

Tip 3: Limit the time of the meeting

 

Keeping the meeting brief will keep active engagement. Long meetings just do not cut it anymore, people just cannot focus and be interested for too long. Therefore setting a time limit for your meeting will help guide you to make points quick and brief.

 

Tip 4: Ask your team members what they want out of the meeting

 

Asking them for their input will help you set an agenda for the meeting about things that matter to them.

 

Tip 5: Stay on task

 

You should have three things to accomplish when having a meeting

  1. Educate : Educate your team members so that they may learn something from the meeting.

  2. Engage: Keep your team members engaged in active in what you are talking about.

  3. Entertain: Figure out a team activity to do during the meeting, so that you are not sitting the whole duration of the meeting.

Changing the location, letting your team members speak, limiting the time of the meeting, getting input before hand about the meeting and staying on task should help create a new meeting environment. With creating a new work meeting environment you will not have to walk out of your meetings anymore asking yourself why you even had that meeting.
